Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12th November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej / Now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. First gymnast in history to earn a 10. a competition at the Olympics. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at the age of six. She would later become the Romanian gymnastics coach. She first competed at the championships for juniors from Romania in 1969 she placed 13th. In 1970, she the Romanian gymnast won. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior event for countries of the communist bloc she won three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she became an all-around junior champion. Her debut as a Senior in the year 1975, she defeated Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. The five-time European champion, winning four golds and one argent. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman to perform the backward double salto in a dismount from the uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment field as a performer as a figure skater. With her younger brother Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol entered the entertainment industry as a teenager. When she was a child she was an ice skater with Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performance.
