April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4th in 1995. When she was in the 7th grade she began to take guitar lessons and piano lessons. This ignited her passion for songwriting. At the age of seven, April began taking guitar and piano lessons. It sparked her interest in writing songs. At the age of 14, April devoted a great deal of time in making song lyrics and working on the music she was playing. The following months, she began taking writing excursions together with her dad on trips to LA as well as NY. April started to incorporate various other topics relevant to the Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure issues and suicide among teens. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle influencer, as well as having partnerships with brands that are clean and healthy like Ilia and YSL, has cultivated a large following. Lockhart was born with no left hand and that is part of who she is--but this isn't the whole truth. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap on her Instagram account, but she does not make it the main focus of it. What's the message? That we all contain multitudes and that we are all unique and we're more than our physical selves. I do not want this to be the only thing that defines me. I don't intend to become an influencer where that's all I discuss because there are so many other aspects to me. Lockhart speaks via video from her house in Nashville. It doesn't affect my everyday life. Everything is normal and I've learned how to adjust. Since it's a my identity and something worthy of discussion. Lockhart is a huge inspiration to her fellow women in the area of acceptance of oneself. She admits that she has gone through phases where she was uncomfortable the way she dressed and exposed her arms. Today, she wears what she's comfortable in and post pictures of herself in these outfits on social media with pride. Self-love, she says, is like a journey. "I don't think you will ever be there," she said. It's a fact that I see for everyone, whatever the source of their anxiety. I believe that it's really important to surround yourself with people who can discern and understand your heart.
