Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. The actress is an actor as well as a singer and dancer. The first Broadway performances included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. She was awarded her Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in the Play to play Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning directors, actors and producers throughout the course of her career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive program Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford's upcoming project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will be released in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the national crisis that swept up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment hearings in over a century. She was also the lead in two seasons on CBS Comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway performances. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford is now dividing the time in Los Angeles and New York.
